• The concept of a 'promised' land is at the very origins of our Jewish story.  The idea has been woven deeply into the fabric of Jewish life - through rituals, customs and the collective Jewish self-perception.  Interestingly while there has been some presence of Jews in that land through the many years, the actual years of Jewish sovereignty over the land has been a very small percentage of the long history of the Jews.
